It indeed consists in clearly expressing one&#8217;s\u00a0<em>needs<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>expectations<\/em>, while also giving consideration to the needs and expectations of others.<\/p>\n<p>In the previous articles, we have seen many\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hr4free.com\/en\/Managerial-Communication-Techniques\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/hr4free.com\/en\/Managerial-Communication-Techniques\">communication tools and techniques (articles)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that can help us develop both the technical and behavioral aspects of\u00a0managerial communication.\u00a0<strong>The observation of our everyday corporate communication shows, however, that miscommunication\u00a0is plentiful<\/strong>, and that\u00a0<em>communicational biases<\/em>\u00a0are more frequent than the practice of listening and reformulation. One example is when someone asks a question while already showing the desire to hear a specific answer. Indeed, declaring to someone: &#8220;I offered you this book because I know that you like the Italian Renaissance sculpture&#8221; forces the person to respond in a predetermined way\u2026 or incites them to provide a discourteous answer. This attitude may be deemed a\u00a0<em>communication failure<\/em>, as it does not provide any useful information to those involved in the process. It may actually be regarded as a kind of\u00a0<em>coercion<\/em>\u00a0when repeated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other frequent causes of miscommunication include the\u00a0monopolization of talking\u00a0time or, at the other end, the stubborn adoption of\u00a0complete silence<\/strong>, both of which can have a negative impact on future agreements. Furthermore, the\u00a0manipulation of information, the\u00a0failure to address essential issues, or a submersion into excessive detail, can also lead to\u00a0<em>communication failures<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we should be aware that there is a diversity of reasons that can cause one\u2019s interlocutor to misunderstand one\u2019s message:\u00a0<em>lack of trust<\/em>,\u00a0<em>knowledge<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>time<\/em>,\u00a0<em>misinterpretation<\/em>,\u00a0<em>noise<\/em>\u2026\u00a0<strong>Obviously, there will always be some room for improvement, no matter what efforts we make<\/strong>\u00a0(and how many personal development classes we attend).
